Come this way
Who do we think we are.
As hard as it can be to describe one-self, describing a company made up of more than 300 individuals almost feels impossible. Who are we? How do we work, and what is our ambition? Instead of trying to squeeze it all into this section, we created our Precis Handbook. It covers everything from our vision to our guiding principles, our salary setting to our way of communicating, our career paths to our company’s history.
One of our guiding principles is to stay transparent, and by creating and sharing this handbook with whoever is interested in us, we hope we are. Have a read and feel free to let us know what you think!

Our headquarter office is located on Södermalm, where three floors of amazing people work together on solving digital marketing challenges. We moved in in November 2020, and are more than excited to have acquired not only a beautiful office space but also more room to grow and create our dream office!

At the beginning of 2018, we had the pleasure to get to know Linköping better when we opened up our office on Platensgatan 1. Since then our attic office has become a fully fledged digital marketing hub and we have gathered some great people who together are working both with our own clients as well as supporting our colleagues at all the other offices.

The second office is a charm! In 2018 we moved to Åvägen – and got the joy of designing an office from scratch. We ended up with 12 meeting rooms designed in different themes ranging from the west coast of Sweden to Italy and a lot of space to grow our digital marketing teams. We still get excited that we now have space for both a great coffee machine as well as a massage and physiotherapy room.

6 offices later, we are still thriving in Nørrebro. Our last move, in the spring of 2019, was to acquire a new floor in our building and design it to become a haven of meeting rooms and open space to use for events and gatherings, such as for some office-morning-gymnastics each Tuesday and Thursday. On the two upper floors, we do digital marketing and web analytics.

Aarhus is the seventh Precis office, we opened up in March 2018 and were more than excited to be able to have an office in such a great city with some of the best tech universities around the corner. About a year after opening the doors in Aarhus we’ve outgrown to office spaces, which lead us to move to Hasle Torv close to Aarhus BSS where we enjoy more space for both our desks as well as for creating spaces for collaboration, meetings and afterworks. Currently, we are in the process of moving again – so pictures will be uploaded when we have settled in!

In August 2017 we opened up our first non-Nordic office and said hello to the UK. We started off in Old Street with five employees and a couple of clients. Since then, twenty digital marketing stars have joined us and in March 2019 we were in need of a larger office. We are now happily situated in Clerkenwell. We have tried to capture some of Precis’ Nordic roots in our office space by having meeting rooms named after famous IKEA furniture and sitting down together for Fika (coffee break with cake) every Wednesday.

In August 2019 we gathered all our belongings, computers and the Precis sign and moved to Møllergata 12 in the beating heart for Oslo city centre. This is our third office in Oslo since the start in 2015 – and we are happy it’s easily the best so far! Previously we have been sharing some office space with other companies but now we have an entire floor of our own, with great features such as our own reception area, massive kitchen and common area. Naturally, we also made sure to include both table tennis and a foosball table to keep the competitive vibe going. This is truly a vibrant workspace for all of us working here and everyone that may visit our offices going forward.

In May 2019 we took the decision to expand our Nordic Soul to Finland and we are now up and running with an office in Helsinki. At the moment it’s Precis newest and smallest office, but we have big plans to grow during the coming years!
Challenges
Solving attribution
From the start we have been intrigued by the challenge in finding out the true value of marketing since it will allow us to buy media as efficiently as possible. Over the years we have come a long way, developing our own attribution algorithms and a proven software. The main challenge within attribution has always been a lack of data. We have to find ways to model for data that is not available, and it will become even more challenging with the privacy revolution and developments within ITP. Nevertheless, aiming for identifying the true vale of marketing will just be more important the harder it gets.
Rapid growth
Growing from 3 to almost 300 individuals spread around eight offices in eight years has tremendously increased the need to find and try new ways of both keeping us together as well as allowing for each individual to be able to find their way. Our latest experiment has been to try out flexible public holidays and we are now trying to figure out how to make sure we get every bit of synergy out of being a group of people that finds, creates and shares a lot of knowledge and information.
It used to be simple
Digital marketing is the same practice as traditional marketing, but with better data. Each interaction should be thought of as distributed communication, and the goal should be to maximise relevancy for each investment. In the early days this was not that complex, there was a limited amount of dimensions to optimise for, and success was based on structure and processes. Today, the digital marketing landscape has grown very complex, and data that can be used for optimisation is vast. It‘s clear that the art has shifted towards selection of strategies, automation and innovation, and it has just become more exciting as the challenge has grown.
